The Seoul International Book Fair presents the Best Books from Korea(BBK) — a program that discovers and showcases books of outstanding creativity, artistry, and originality to readers both in Korea and abroad. In 2025, a total of 40 titles have been selected across four categories: Best Book Design in Korea (BBDK), Best Book for Children in Korea(BBCK), Best Book of Pleasure in Korea(BBPK), and Best Book of Wisdom in Korea(BBWK) — ten titles in each.

At the Busan International Children’s Book Fair, we are pleased to reintroduce the ten titles chosen in the “Best Book for Children in Korea(BBCK)” category, dedicated to picture books. These works embrace a wide range of themes, styles, and experimental approaches. They were selected not only for their artistic excellence but also for how they explore and expand the essence of what a picture book can be today.

A picture book is a form of art where words and images breathe together.

Even in a rapidly changing media environment, picture books remind us of the quiet yet powerful experience of turning a page — of pausing, feeling, and immersing ourselves in the harmony of story and image.
