Participatory Art Exhibition with Artist Kim Hyung-Kwan 〈Today’s Sky, Tomorrow’s Sea〉

This exhibition is a space that connects the sky we see today with the sea that awaits tomorrow.

Crossing the boundaries between the present and the future, between reality and imagination,
it conveys infinite possibilities and the power of new beginnings through waves of vibrant color.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple tapes intertwine and flow together,
forming colorful waves that symbolize the path where children’s dreams and wisdom grow across a sea of books.

At the meeting point of the horizontal and the vertical,
our thoughts and imaginations unfold together.

〈Today’s Sky, Tomorrow’s Sea〉is a participatory art exhibition co-created by the artist and children.
Through their gestures and movements,
the children fill the space with layers of tape, transforming it into a sea of new colors and forms.

This is an imaginative sea where children’s dreams ripple and spread—waves born from their fingertips extend toward tomorrow and into the wider world.

Now, we invite you to step into this space where waves of color dance.

Shall we set sail on a journey across the waves together?

* About the Artist
Since 2004, artist Kim Hyung-Kwan has been exploring the materiality and colors of industrially produced box tape (OPP Color Boxtape) through both two-dimensional and installation works.
He draws inspiration from the colors and surfaces he encounters by chance in everyday urban settings—glass windows, advertisements, and packaging materials—continuing his practice by observing and reinterpreting these ordinary yet vibrant elements.
